As the nation celebrates the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, Boscobel invites you explore the often forgotten and overlooked histories of Loyalists, Native Americans, African Americans, and tradespeople reluctant to break ties with Britain.
Presented in conjunction with Boscobel’s special exhibition, Loyalist Legacies: Relics from the Losing Side, this day of show-and-tell will highlight artworks and everyday heirlooms that illustrate the lives, loyalties, and legacies of those who found themselves on the losing side of the war.
The day begins with coffee and check-in at 9:30am, lively presentations and group discussions from 10am-3pm, with lunch included at 12:30pm. Whether you are a history enthusiast or simply curious about the people and objects of the past, join us for a fresh look at the American Revolution and its enduring legacy.
Featured speakers include:
Steven Balstas, Preserve Long Island
