Enjoy the antiquing escapades of Andrew Baseman, whose unusual collection of objects that were broken and repaired in surprising ways more than 100 years ago is featured in Boscobel’s current exhibition, Make-Do’s: Curiously Repaired Antiques.

Andrew is a savvy collector both personally and professionally. His talent for telling stories through objects is evident in sets that he designs for film and television—including Eat, Pray, Love and Gotham—as it is in his popular blog, Past Imperfect: The Art of Inventive Repair.

In conversation with Boscobel Curator Jennifer Carlquist, Andrew will discuss his favorite finds, the ones that got away, and how antiques influence his design work.
