The
orientation exhibition is located in the Carriage House Reception Center. It
provides visitors with historical background on the property and tells the dramatic
story of how Boscobel was saved from near demolition in the 1950s and moved
to its present location fifteen miles north in Garrison, NY.
The
exhibit also covers the restoration of the house and the installation of the
gardens in the late 1950s and early 1960s and the reinterpretation of the mansion
and furnishings by Berry B. Tracy in the mid-1970s.
