The Renowned Collection

The Collection

Boscobel’s interiors display one of the finest collections of New York furniture from the Federal period, including documented examples by America’s most celebrated cabinetmaker, Duncan Phyfe.

The silver, ceramics, and glassware, some of which were owned by States and Elizabeth Dyckman, include polished mahogany, gilt bronze, and cut glass that sparkle with always-changing natural light. Pastoral landscapes appear on paintings, prints, ceramics, and even furniture.

Lighting devices includes numerous candlesticks, sconces and Argand lamps, a gilded wood English chandelier, and a rare and important pair of 4-light candelabra by John Blades of London, a leading glass manufacturer of the 18th and 19th century.

Boscobel’s collection inspires designers, artists, scholars, and anyone who appreciates color and craftsmanship.
