Join us in the Gallery for informal and informative Currier & Ives commentary by Guest Curator, Nicole Simpson. Ms. Simpson has curated exhibits at the New York Public Library and is a specialist in 19th century American prints. She will discuss the exhibition's lithographs and answer questions.

This summer's exhibition will showcase approximately 30 images from "the printmakers to the American people:" Currier & Ives. The exhibit will focus on the landscapes and views of the Hudson River Valley with scenic locales such as West Point, Hudson Highlands and Sleepy Hollow, and will offer an opportunity to re-examine the history of Currier & Ives, as well as bring together their Hudson Valley
imagery in one place for the very first time.

COMMUNITY POTLUCK SUPPER

Celebrate October’s bountiful harvest of apples from Boscobel’s orchard!  Enjoy the candlelight blessing of the orchard followed by a potluck supper, live music and a contest to determine the finest apple dishes. Please bring a side dish to serve four. Presented by the Friends of Boscobel. Reservations Required. $25/person

HORSE & CARRIAGE DAY

Experience the kinds of horse-drawn transportation that abounded in the early part of the nineteenth century. Members of the Mid-Hudson Driving Association will show off their horses and antique vehicles, and the Red Horse Troop Drill Team will provide pony demonsrations.
So, bring a blanket or chair and sit back and watch a narrated parade of the horse-drawn vehicles, followed by competitive events highlighting the skill of both horse and driver. Visitors can also enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides around the property from noon to 4 p.m. (Included in price of admission.)

COSTUMED HOUSE TOURS

On the lastFriday of every month, Boscobel's docents will dress in various period costumes to guide visitors through Boscobel House on an interactive, interpretive tour. They will explain life and times of the 1800s and perhaps share "inside stories" of the Dyckman family: the help, the visitors, the hardships and the celebrations. Step back in time for a fresh perspective on past & present life.
11am & 3pm Tours Only.

GHOST INVESTIGATION
TOUR & LECTURE

Join us once again for spellbinding ghost stories told by paranormal investigator Linda Zimmermann.
New this year:
Linda and her partner will lead visitors through the halls of Boscobel house, using specialized equipment to detect the possible presence of supernatural entities. After the tour, come into the gallery on the lower level of Boscobel house for a presentation about what the investigation revealed, as well as Linda's paranormal findings in other Hudson Valley locations. Linda will also be autographing and selling her books. Cookies & cider served. Space limited! Reservations required.
(Recommended for children 12+ due to potentially frightening material.)
