Spring Bus Tour to Grounds for Sculpture
Hosted by the Friends of Boscobel
All are invited to join with the Friends of Boscobel as they reprise their most popular bus tour to a favored site: Grounds for Sculpture near Trenton, N.J. Enjoy a guided tour of the grounds, followed by a delightful gourmet lunch at the unusually named Rat’s Restaurant and plenty of free time to tour the outdoor and indoor exhibits on the manicured and landscaped grounds. Especially enjoyable are life-sized panoramas depicting famous Impressionistic paintings in realistically painted sculpture. See Manet’s “Picnic” and Renoir’s “Luncheon of the Boat Party,” among others as interpreted in three dimensions by J. Seward Johnson, Jr., and Segal’s bleak, monochromatic “Depression Bread Line,” along with countless other sculptures from modern to traditional and everything in between. All in all, a delightful trip to a fascinating site with a fine restaurant as well. Bring your cameras. Please be at the Boscobel parking lot by 7:45 a.m.
